To consult widely with the people of Talbot
and District about social needs before proceeding with any
plans, programs and projects to develop the Talbot community;
To represent the people of Talbot on any regional and governmental
committees and to use those opportunities to advance ideas,
plans, projects and programs for the benefit of the people;
To secure and preserve those historic and heritage buildings
and natural important sites in the town of Talbot that are
in danger of being destroyed and keep them in perpetuity for
the people of the town and the rest of the world;
To provide focal points within the town and its district,
where people can obtain various kinds of resources such as
training, skills, leadership capacities and facilities to
enhance their lives and equip them to live in the 21st century;
To take every opportunity to create employment and advance
local industries in the town of Talbot with a particular emphasis
in the early years of the 21st century on tourism, a fresh
produce cooperative and tourist facilities and accommodation.
To establish such Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees
as are necessary to fulfil the objectives of the Association.
The assets and income of the Association shall be applied
solely in furtherance of the above-mentioned objects and no
portion shall be distributed directly or indirectly to the
members of the Association except as bona fide compensation
for services rendered or expenses incurred on behalf of the
Association.”
