Provides an avenue for mutual support for primary carers
in the home
Provides practical resources for carers e.g. library, videos
etc.;
Serves as a central reference point for services and resources
Educates carers specified to their needs
Informs the community regarding the existance of carers
and their needs
Acts as an advocate on behalf of carers to funding bodies
and other service
The carers support group achieves these goals by:
Being affiliated with the carers Association of Victoria
Identifying the needs of carers and responding appropriately
Meeting monthly at selected venues
Being housed at Havilah Hostel Maryborough and having
access to administration and support services
